HERRIMAN, Utah — Officials have determined that a threat made towards Herriman High School originated from out of state.
Officers of the Herriman Police Department announced that they had become aware of the threat singling out Herriman High shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15.
During the preliminary investigation, authorities stated that they did not have reason to believe the threat was credible.
Herriman police provided a community update just after 10:40 a.m., stating that they identified the original post of the threat as an out of state source.
While officers did not identify the state where the threat originated form nor the platform it was posted on, they said that law enforcement in an out of state agency were working to determine potential charges.
“The safety of our school children is a top priority and we take all threats seriously,” Herriman officers stated.
The written threat was not released.
