A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday night at an apartment complex parking lot, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving a man in serious condition at a nearby hospital. The Alsip Police responded to reports of gunshots at approximately 10:35 p.m. on May 24 in the vicinity of 115th and Pulaski. Several individuals contacted emergency services to report the gunfire near the Villa Court apartment complex located at 11509 S. Villa Ct. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered approximately 30 shell casings and shattered glass scattered across the parking lot. However, neither the perpetrator nor the victims were present.
Law enforcement officials conducted a thorough investigation and determined that an injured man and woman had independently driven themselves to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn to seek medical attention. Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at the hospital, while the man underwent surgery to address his injuries.
It has been revealed that the victims are not residents of Alsip, indicating that the shooting was likely a targeted attack. Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored sedan fleeing the scene, heading westbound on 115th Street.
